3. A Persistent Fever
A fever is one of the ways in which the body’s immune system might respond to a potential intruder. In a way to rid the body of the illness or bacteria, the first thing it does is to raise the body temperature to make it an uninhabitable environment for germs or bacteria – but this can also have the effect of making you much sicker than you’re supposed to be and putting a lot of added pressure on your system and heart.
If you experience a persistent fever and you can’t find the cause, don’t opt for home treatments that could do more harm than good: Treat a possible fever with either paracetamol or the natural compounds (such as willow bark) that contain it, and if that doesn’t do the trick, seek medical attention.
If you experience a fever together with any of the symptoms mentioned on this list, especially ones affecting the genitals, it might be a sexually transmitted disease: See your doctor for tests and the proper treatment.
