14 Signs That You Have Chlamydia

November 29, 2019 | New Articles: Conditions

Chlamydia is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases that we know of, and people are infected and affected at a rate of a few thousand people every year.

Even if you are sexually responsible enough to make use of protection, this doesn’t always mean that your partner is doing the same thing – and there are many cases where chlamydia is contracted through sex that wasn’t consensual. This means that there are many situations where people might have contracted a disease like chlamydia through no fault of their own, although there’s still a lot of stigma associated with having it.

If you show any symptoms or signs of a chlamydia infection, seek medical attention. It’s usually easy to treat with a macro dose of antibiotics and the symptoms should go away after proper treatment.

Worried or not sure what you should look for? Here are 14 potential signs that you might have chlamydia.

1. A Lowered Immune System

The immune system is there to make sure your body remains protected against viruses and infection, and it’s usually the bodily system that’s standing between you and getting the flu that’s going around for this season. Even though the immunity is supposed to protect the body, it can’t protect against everything it encounters – and chlamydia can generally lower your immune system to the point you’re getting sick from everything else.

A lowered immune system can be caused by a thousand different things. Regardless of the cause, you’re likely to get sick easier and stay sick for a lot longer as a result of your immune system being affected.

Where it’s chlamydia affecting the immune system, you will generally show other signs or symptoms along with it that could tip you off that it’s time to make an appointment with your doctor.

If your immunity issues persist after this and you’re still sick after antibiotics, follow up with your doctor immediately.
