5. Cinnamon
Cinnamon is one of the only spices that we derive from the bark of a tree instead of from leaves or seeds of a plant; that’s why it’s so damned dry and why your lungs and throat react the way they do if you inhale it accidentally.
(That also happens to be the reason why the cinnamon challenge that gained popularity on the internet some years ago was so dangerous – and is still deadly and extremely stupid at the same time!) Cinnamon is something that’s great to put in a drink, in a stew or in many desserts:
Who doesn’t love custard that’s topped with some cinnamon, or pancakes with some cinnamon and sugar sprinkled over the warm top? Cinnamon can also be used for many other things – and this would be the time to tell you that cinnamon is extremely healthy for you, too, and can help you to lose weight.
