5. Vaginal Itching
A persistent feeling of itching and discomfort is one of the most common signs reported by women suffering from bacterial vaginosis, and it can be one of the first signs that act as a tip-off to the body that there might be a problem in need of being addressed.
This is a common symptom of bacterial vaginosis that everyone experiences. ;Other symptoms are likely to go together with it, including an unpleasant discharge and odor – both of which are symptoms that can point to having contracted bacterial vaginosis a few days to weeks prior. It might be the first symptom you experience, or others might take place first – but it occurs in almost all symptomatic cases.
Scratching the itch can only make the problem worse, and a bacterial vaginosis-related itch will only go away entirely once the proper treatment has been received: In the meantime, there’s an added risk of spreading bacterial vaginosis to others.
