4. Changes in Appetite or Weight
Most parasitic infections that you can be diagnosed with needs the resources of their human host in order to survive and reproduce within the body: This is why they’re called parasites, and that’s why they serve very little purpose once they’re actually in our bodies. Comparatively, they don’t aid our bodies like the good gut bacteria that are technically still bugs, but different kinds that are actually useful.
Why this matters is the fact that some types of parasitic infections (including tapeworm) can affect your appetite from the inside out. Where tapeworms are using up resources inside your body, all of your energy is going towards keeping the infestation alive within your body (and this subsequently means that your appetite can go haywire as a result).
Take note if you experience any sudden changes in your appetite or weight: Sometimes it could be a tapeworm infection, particularly if you can combine other factors on the list.
