5. Sandals
Sandals, flip-flops, and flat-soled shoes are very comfortable and can even be the safest option in some situations. While this type of footwear is suitable on occasion, a shoe that lacks compressive support will have a detrimental effect on your health in the long term. Flat soled shoes, sandals, and flip-flops only provide a small layer of support between your feet and the ground.
This lack of support will place more stress and pressure on the heel tissues. Once your feet become fatigued it is easy for them to develop painful conditions such as heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. People that do choose to wear such simple footwear on a regular basis will need to take steps to restore their feet to their natural state daily. This can be accomplished by regular foot soaks, foot massages and other therapeutic exercises to reduce ligament stress, relieve tension in the bones, and invigorate the heel tissues.
