2. Personality Change
You might not realize it yourself, but one of the first symptoms of depression is that you will experience some kind of obvious change in your mood and personality – other people around you might comment that this is not the you that they have come to know, and while it’s not great to hear that from anyone that you know, you should take note of it if it corresponds to the fact that you have been feeling different emotionally lately.
Personality and mood changes are very common – and the changes are more often than not leaning towards suddenly being depressed and sad when you were otherwise a normally upbeat person. This is an emotional change that you will almost immediately notice in yourself; others will notice it too, and combined with some of the symptoms on this list it can mean that you suffer from serious depression – and you might not even have realized it.
3. Low Sex Drive
One of the most common characteristics that are associated with suffering from depression includes that things which would normally have held your interest will suddenly seem unimportant to you; this will include common interests and hobbies that you might have had, this feeling can spill over into your work life and make your career seem even more mundane than it normally would.
Depression can turn your days into a serious drag, and if depression is left untreated for too long then it can begin to affect your sex drive as well: A low libido can be a characteristic symptom of depression, and it can also point to other hormonal imbalances in your body that you should have checked out as soon as you can: If you are experiencing changes in your mood or sex drive, make an immediate appointment with your doctor – for this, hormone treatment will be enough to fix this.
