5. Potassium
Potassium has a lot of health benefits and should be included in your diet especially if you need to be taking special care of your heart and have an already diagnosed condition such as high blood pressure. In fact, potassium can be considered lifesaving in some circumstances, and if you have high blood pressure and don’t have access to any medication then it’s generally recommended that you eat something very high in potassium – usually a banana – so that your blood pressure will drop naturally and you can get to medical attention.
But people forget that it’s not the only benefit of potassium, and if you are experiencing cramps in your muscles and general pain then potassium will be able to give you some relief from your symptoms. If you don’t like bananas, there are many other foods that contain high levels of potassium – though we’d recommend that you also take a supplement.
