Liquorice is a miraculous root against a cough because it has an expectorant action, which means that it helps to remove the mucus from the lungs and emollients, then forms a relaxing film over the upper part of the sore throat, reducing inflammation, and soothing to the respiratory tract encouraging the disappearance of the mucus and reducing congestion.

To create a licorice herbal tea you only need 2 tablespoons of dried licorice root and water with which to boil the tea. The recommended dosage for this natural cough remedy is 2 cups of herbal tea per day.
