3. Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a common and natural treatment for nausea that is popular in China and many other parts of the world. It involves small needles being inserted into pressure points on the body. There are certain pressure points that can cause nausea. When the needles are inserted into these specific spots, it helps relieve nausea. The needles help stimulate nerves that send messages to the brain.
Many people who experience chronic nausea and can’t find a cause for it, find relief with acupuncture. There’s a very low risk for side effects, but some people do experience some pain, discomfort, and numbness associated with the therapy. Infections are rare but possible. Acupuncture can be used with other nausea remedies and isn’t likely to interfere with any other medications you may be taking for other medical reasons.
It’s always a good idea to check with a doctor before starting any type of new therapy. Acupuncture doesn’t work on everyone and doesn’t treat all types of nausea.
