13 Unforeseen Signs of Gluten Intolerance

April 24, 2018 | New Articles: Conditions

A fairly common problem in the general US population is gluten intolerance. Gluten is a protein found in rye, barley, wheat, and spelt. When gluten intolerance becomes intolerable it is known as celiac disease. Most people assume that celiac disease is an allergy, but rather, celiac disease is an autoimmune disease that affects around 1% of the population and causes excessive damage to your digestive tract.

Around .5% to 13% of people may also have non-celiac related gluten sensitivities that are a much milder form but can also cause damage to your gut and digestive system. Knowing this, we have expertly put together the top signs you need to watch out for to check if you are gluten sensitive. By simply removing gluten from your diet with the many free guides you can find online, you can flip your health upside down, change the way you view food, and feel better than ever.

1. Bloating

If you feel swollen or full of gas after a meal and extremely miserable, it could be a sign that you have to bloat, a sign of gluten intolerance. This is especially true if you had a meal that was full of gluten and high fiber products, such as wheat. One of the number one complaints of people who have an intolerance to gluten is feeling bloated. Besides being uncomfortable, it can be painful, inconvenient, and overall completely avoidable just by changing your diet from one full of gluten to one with much less!

Bloating can be accompanied by lots of other uncomfortable feelings and symptoms such as stomach cramps, constipation, diarrhea, and bad gas. Some of the items that are heaviest in gluten that are more prone to causing you bloating are items like white pasta, pizza, and most Italian cuisine. Just by removing some gluten from your diet, bloating greatly lessens. Once all gluten is removed, you should either minimize or completely eliminate all bloating and other symptoms related to it.
