2. Body Fat Levels
When going on a low-fat diet it is important to consider your current body fat levels. If you are obese or overweight, you will have more fat to burn. If you have a muffin top or beer belly, all of the fat can be mobilized if you are eating a low carb diet all of the fat can be mobilized. However, if you are male and have body fat that is under 8 percent or if you are female and your body fat is in the low teens, it is likely that you will struggle on a consistently low carb diet.
For those that have a lower amount of body fat, a low carb diet may not be the best option. Since the body has little fat to burn for energy, not eating enough carbs may have a negative effect. However, for those that have excess body fat, low carb is the best option.
