2. Abdominal Pain
Pain that is located between the pelvic and chest areas on the body is referred to as abdominal pain. This is a large area of the body and there are numerous things that may cause a person to experience pain within this region. There are several organs located within the abdominal region. These include the small and large intestines, the appendix, the spleen, the kidneys, the gallbladder, the liver, the pancreas, and the stomach.
Parasitic, viral, or bacterial infections that affect the intestines and the stomach may cause a significant amount of abdominal pain. If the bowel becomes obstructed, it can cause a significant amount of pain throughout the abdominal region. Abdominal pain that is caused by a bowel obstruction may feel dull, sharp, achy, or crampy. The pain may be constant or intermittent. Anyone who is experiencing extreme pain throughout the abdominal region should discuss it with their doctor, especially if it is accompanied by one or more of the symptoms on this list.
